One of my fondest memories of India, is the scent. Wait a minute, don’t misinterpret this the wrong way!
Early in the mornings, just after the sunrise, as the city slowly awakes, the local farmers descend upon the marketplace to set up their bazaars. As the morning breeze blows, the sweet aromatic spices drifts through the air. As the scents gently drift into my room, my senses are suddenly awaken from my sweet slumber.
It’s a sweet aroma of herbs and spices: Turmeric, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, masala, and curry amongst others. Not to forget the burning incenses: sandalwood, frank-incense, jasmine and lavender just to name a few. With this glorious melting pot of aroma, you easily forget about the rubble and the chaotic buzzing streets when the city is alive.
