Where are you from? That’s always a difficult question for me to answer, because I’ve lived in so many countries, cities and states and each one of those places feels like home. In every continent that exists there’s a place that I call home. Traveling leaves you speechless, then it turns you into a story-teller, so here’s my story.
As a Wanderlust, the beauty of traveling is all the souls that you’ll meet along the way. For me, it’s the women artisans that I get to work with and giving back to her dreams, through fair wages, and transparency. Whether it’s a small production mill in Bali that handcrafts our dresses, a rugged little Hat Mill in Tulum, the Historical Garment District in NYC, LA’s Fashion District, or our Coachella Valley Community. Travel has allowed me the Freedom to think and create outside the box. I’m an experienced designer because travel has taught me that anything can be your canvas. And that there is beauty in every art.
My love for fashion has immensely been inspired by global travels. I’ve sourced fabrics in the buzzing markets of Mumbai, hand-selected trims in the villages of Nairobi and hiked the cobbled streets of Valladolid searching for fabrics. I’m extremely passionate about the design process. I’m always glued in from the inspiration stages, pattern cutting, to the first fitting after the final stitch.
Travel has strengthened my empathy towards others and respect for culture. If we can’t see “eye to eye, let’s try heart to heart’. Through my humanitarian work with The American Red Cross and The International Rescue Committee; I’ve learned that even in distress, kindness, empathy and a smile, can diffuse most conflicts.
All of these experiences have led me on a deeper path that has ignited my consciousness into wellness. As humans, we are at our greatest potential when living a healthy, sustainable lifestyle. When we feel good, we look good.
Through these global experiences, I’m inspired to create from the spirit of the wanderlust, free-spirited nature lovers, and Wellness enthusiasts.
Namaste …
