After a decade, in the fashion industry, there are so many lessons I’ve learnt over the years.

While Fashion may be art, it is also a business. The Business of Fashion can be quite challenging, there is more to it than just ideas, sketches, or the glitz, and glamour. You have to understand different aspects such as Branding, Marketing, Finance, and Legalities amongst others.
One of the best ways to gain insights into the Fashion Industry is to work/apprentice with a Designer, Fashion House, or a Brand Accelerator program such as Thr3fold for at least a year before even considering whether you should be on your own. The next best option is to get real life advice from the experts.
This season, I guest coached at THR3EFOLD. Thr3fold is an online platform built to connect fashion and accessory brands to ethical production factories around the world. This platform takes the time and guesswork out of finding and vetting your factory options.
- Only ethically certified factories are accepted.
- Clear filters and profile templates help you find the best factory for you.
- Robust project management allows you to manage your production process from pricing to production all in one place.
I focused teaching on Learning how to Build a Strong Lifestyle Brand and providing one-on-one feedback to the brands enrolled at THR3fold. Giving back, especially to the next generation of creatives is quite rewarding, and at the core of my purpose in Fashion.
